The mountain-side or "mauka", East facing Lanai, of Kealakekua Pali Makai.
Kealakekua Pali Makai
is located just a short four or five minute stroll from Kealakekua Bay
on 5 1/2 acres of land just mauka (toward the
mountain) of Kealakekua Bay.
It is an extraordinarily finely crafted three
bedroom, two bath home
with a beautiful view of Kealakekua Bay and the
"Pali" or cliff which rims its northhern edge. Its owners are
artists in wood, gold and stained glass, and
the home was custom designed and built by them to embrace, rest, and
heal, and celebrate the Hawaiian Aloha Spirit.
Kealakekua Pali Makai
is a three bedroom, two bath home, with two broad sparkling lanais, modern
clean kitchen,
laundry facilities, and carefully manicured grounds.

The famed Monument
to Captain James Cook, British Discoverer of the Hawaiian Islands, is seen
on the far side of Kealakekua Bay.
Kealakekua Pali Makai
is a plantation-style estate, and rests on beautifully manicured grounds
with traditional Hawaiian plantings of Monkeypod
trees, Hawaiian Ti plants,
and flowering Royal Poinsettia Trees, with giant
ginger as well.
Pineapples, and bananas and palms of a number
of types round out the edible part of the landscaping..

background.
The wide lanai on the left faces serene Kealakekua Bay.
Two broad lanais or decks face both towards the
mountain and the Bay. Outdoor dining and
lounging are not only possible, but are the rule,
and ceiling fans and lights are placed
above the dining areas on both lanais to facilitate
comfortable day and evening use. Windows
are all completely screened and openable.

that forms the Northern edge of Kealakekua Bay).
Life here
awakens to the morning sounds of tropical birds through the glancing green
of
the first rays of sun as it falls on the sapphire
waters of the Bay, and continues its slow soft
dance through a sparkling day to a broad Pacific
Ocean sunset and starlit evening. Soft
restful breezes stir, first from makai, the ocean,
during the day, and then from mauka, or
the mountain, at night.
The ocean gently murmurs
its presence, and with those whispers come the sounds of
whales breaching and cavorting during their own
annual winter vacation to the Isles.
Spinner dolphins play in the Bay below, sometimes
wonderfully awakening our own primeval urges to
swim free and fly away.

Come stay at Kealakekua Pali Makai, and
a piece of you will remain here forever clasped
in the healing heart of Kealakekua Bay
.
We have lived here since we sailed into Kealakekua Bay on a small sailboat
from the US mainland 22 years ago,
and still not a day goes by that we are not yet reminded that this is one
of the most beautiful
places on earth.
We shall be honored to share this most wonderful place with you.
